We had a gift card for this place. That was the motivation for this visit. I say that because it is THE reason this review is here. To elaborate... Everything about this place id fine. There was nothing WRONG with it... But there was nothing to BRING me here either. The food (Ravioli and the pork chop) was delicious. The service was adequate, but not amazing... Water wasn't filled, long breaks with few costumers and no real explanation. It was half full on entering and at capacity when we left... So it got busier... I expect service got worse with that, not improved. It is also in a fairly inconvenient location (crowded and busy strip mall) and I will likely not ever visit again based on that alone. The prices were also MUCH higher than I would pay for those dishes again. That said... If you are in the area, want to try something new AND delicious in a 'finer dining' establishment... Try it.

I gave this place an overall rating of 3 because we were disappointed in the food quality for the price. The presentation is wonderful, but the preparation was a little off. We started with a "seared" ahi appetizer special. The ahi did appear to be seared, but based on the temperature, it seems to have been seared hours before and chilled down. It would have been much better if the ahi was seared right before the appetizer was served. While we waited we enjoyed a couple small loaves of complementary sourdough bread with a sweet cinnamon whipped butter which was excellent. Susan enjoyed the house chopped Romain salad with blue cheese, bacon, and grapes. I opted for the Caesar which was a heart of Romain topped with roasted peppers, accompanied by a crostini toast instead of the typical croutons. I was excited for the toast, but it was cold, as if the salad had been prepared a few hours before and had sat in a fridge with the toast on the plate waiting to be served. Between courses, we cleared our pallet with a complementary lime sherbet. Nice touch. Susan enjoyed the tenderloin which was very good. I regretfully ordered the shrimp scampi in hopes that it would match my fond memories of scampi from the East Coast. No such luck. The large jumbo shrimp were very dense and chewy, indicative of being frozen prior to preparation. The scampi sauce was thin and not very full of flavor. Scampi is supposed to be olive oil, butter, garlic, and white wine. It should be rich, not watery. Overall, the atmosphere and service were great. I'm rating this restaurant on a scale with other restaurants that cost as much. Utah has a dearth of fine dining options. Every once in a while you want to go to a place where you don't feel like cattle. The Wild Rose is one of those places. The atmosphere is top notch for a place in a strip mall. Unfortunately, the window seats overlook a parking lot. But it's white tablecloths, a wine selection on display, and good lighting that give it a sophisticated feeling. The service was good. We were very well taken care of until we finished eating, then it was a long wait for the desert check and the bill. This is a common issue for restaurants. The food missed the mark at the Wild Rose price point.

We went for our anniversary, it was not crowded. Thursday evening live music with ability to requesting preferred songs. Dan was our waiter and was phenomenal, he made excellent recommendations for our preferred pallets the entire team was welcoming and pleasant. Chicken and Ribeye with the house special appetizer, drinks were delicious and pace of the meal was wonderful without feeling rushed at all. Wonderful experience!

Must experience! Amazing service where the waiter actually gave advice on what menu items he has tried and enjoyed. Took his advice on the Elk Chops...was not disappointed. Food was top notch and just delicious. Usually we don't get desert but we did. The creme brulee hit that spot! Just wish I got a cocktail, but I will be back.

My partner made reservations for us to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. Usually, I like to look up the online menu to see the options and styles of food served. I also like to look at the ratings to see what the plus or minus about the restaurant are. Honestly, I was very impressed with the service, hospitality, food taste, presentation, plus the esthetic of the restaurant. Yes, I've been out to eat plenty of restaurants, but this was a nicer restaurant. Everything was amazing. The only thing that I could think of that could have bugged someone is that there's no pretty view to see outside the windows. Makes sense because it's just a parking lot. Besides that, everything else was amazing. The flavors of the food were absolutely delicious. Plus, our server was very friendly and helpful giving suggestions. The experience was awesome, so we're definitely plan to come back again.

Sneaky sneaky sneaky! What a pleasant experience it was to find a nice restaurant not in SLC. So here’s a few observations from our experience: Service was top tier (I believe our server’s name was Daniel but can’t recall - either way, it was definitely above what I expected) Food was tasty. Slightly overpriced for this city, but understandable. The space: from the outside, you’d never guess there’s a nice place given the location and type of other establishments in the area. We find a parking spot quickly but can see it being busier in the afternoon and late evening. Once inside, it’s nice and we were told there’s been recent upgrades for expansion. They have it set up in a way where walls have the option to move and create multiple rooms for private events and other occasions. IMO it’s clever but makes it so that when seated, parties are too close together (even in the more quiet/private rooms) which makes date/anniversary conversations almost “shareable” with your neighbor. The day we dined here, they were out of scallops l, but excited to come back and try it next time we are in Utah.

The staff were all so so great! From the host, to the bartender, to our waitress. Especially the latter was so attentive and nice! I really enjoyed them. However, the food itself was very meh. Considering their pricing I was expecting really wonderful food, but was disappointed. The crème brûlée was good though! Probably won’t be going again but was at least worth a shot.
